Mental Health Monday: Young Invincibles Mental Health Briefing

Dear Partners and Student Leaders,

This year, Young Invincibles worked to create More Than Self Care: Students Speaking Out For Mental Health, a policy agenda written by students for students regarding the impacts of mental health on young adults in higher education.

Given your area of work, Young Invincibles would like to cordially invite you to a briefing session for our mental health agenda, taking place virtually on February 20th from 11:30 to 12:30 pm, a day we are designating as Mental Health Monday!  During this briefing, we will be joined by our partners at Mental Health America, Children's Defense Fund, and NAMI Texas.

Higher Ed Budget Learning and Action Session

How does the Texas state budget impact higher education? What can students and Advocates do to show support for higher education funding? Join us at Invest in Texas Higher Ed, held by Texas PACE (Postsecondary Advocates Coalition for Equity).

As we continue to fight the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, state leaders should do everything they can to provide relief to Texans struggling to get by through this crisis. Instead, the initial budget proposals from the Texas House and Senate continue the trend of making college less affordable and accessible, shifting costs to students and families through tuition increases and eroded financial aid support.

The Invest in Texas Higher Ed campaign includes organizations from across Texas who believe that for the Texas economy to recover, we need strong public investments in the community colleges, universities, and need-based financial aid programs that form the foundations of opportunity and prosperity for our state. We hope you join us for this learning and action session!
